Disgraceful Adnan Oktar (Harun Yahya) & his A9 TV!

Adnan Oktar, a turkish author famous for debunking of the theory of evolution in his book, The Evolution Deceit, is a well-known figure in Turkey. In the 90s he gained popularity among the wider non – turkish audience through his often colourful books, replete high quality images and graphics. He was seen as a well-to-do muslim theologian fighting against all the modern secularist attacks on religion especially Islam. He set the tone when it came to answering many of the modern-day dilemmas facing the growing and burgeoning muslim communities in the west. Commonly mixing scientific intrigue and pioneering research with the divine revelations to show the accommodating nature of religious texts when came to science and its many fields of research.

However, he seems to have fallen victim to the very thing he was trying hard to deter muslim communities away from; the temptation to steer into the pitfalls of modernity and move away from traditional Islāmic values and traditions.  The nature of Adnan Oktar sets a classic example of a man suffering from the multiple personality disorder, (MPD). When one reads his books, and his unaware of the activities on his TV channel, A9 TV, he comes across as a man good enough to be classed along side many of the great Islāmic theologians of the past. Setting himself up to be seen as someone who is the Imam Ghazzali equivalent of the modern era, a man set out to make many breakthroughs in the service of Islam. Yet, when a person sees his TV channel with all the activities associated there, it paints a completely different picture. It is of a man drowning in using misinterpreted islamic texts to justify his lustful ulterior ego, a man promoting a version of Islam completely alien to that of traditional and even modern Islam, (for those who practice it) into an outright blasphemous version of Islam.

To begin with, Adnan Oktar seems to be a fan of the notoriously open sinner and advocate of abolishing ‘Islamic’ Turkey, Mustafa Ataturk. In a live TV interview on 29 December 2008, Mr Adnan mentioned:

Ataturk is the champion of champions. He was very good-looking, very smart, he was our pride and joy, he was a brave Ottoman Pasha, and he was a brave Turkish Pasha and a Commander-in-Chief. He created the system of secularism to close down the way to hypocrisy..

When in fact  Mustafa Ataturk, tried his best to destroy the very fabric of Islam not only in Turkey, but the entire western world! He styled himself as the Martin Luther of his people taking them out of an out dated, and incompatible 7th century Islam and in to one which is passionately for all things reformation. One that allows people to drink, women to dress, or the lack of, as they please.

According to Ataturk modernity was valued and represented as not wearing any religious dress or being non-religious. So he ordered what cloths Turkey’s citizens should wear. The traditional garb of local religious leaders was outlawed. The fez (Turkish hat) was banned for men and the veil and hijab (headscarves) were discouraged and restricted for women. Ordered Muslims to use the Turkish word Tanri instead of Allah for God and use the Turkish language in Salaath (the 5 times prayers) and Azaan (the call for prayers). These preposterous changes deeply disturbed the faithful Muslims and caused widespread resentment, which led in 1933 to a return to the Arabic version of the call to prayer.

In recent times Mr Adnan, has increasingly become more controversial with claims being made to assert his securalist idea of Islam. He mentions in his TV programme: Allah granted Prophet Sulaiman (as) the sovereignty of the world because he prioritised artistry, aesthetics and love.
Women are allowed to dress as they please in western style clothes as Allah approves of ‘high quality’ women. In fact he goes on to make other alarmingly dangerous claims; On why women in is shows look like prostitute-style grossly over-the-top makeup wearing buffoons. He claims, “this is artistry and muslims should look high quality so that people listen to the teachings of Islam. That, Islam should look aesthetically pleasing with good-looking men and women, according to him this is why Allah destroyed the Ottoman empire as they moved away from this.

Muslim men and Muslim women must be the best dressed, the most classy-looking, the best-groomed and the most enlightened and modern people in the world. And make-up is one lawful way of looking well-groomed and beautiful.

There are dark-haired women and red-haired women as well as blondes among the women who appear on our program. The color hair is entirely a matter of their own personal choice. Blonde is an attractive color chosen by many women in the world and that suits them very well.

He goes to on say men can complement women on how beautiful they look:

Allah recommends that beauty be praised in the Qur’an. Allah compares women to flowers and praises them in the Qur’an. That is also a compliment addressed to women. Loving beauty and expressing that love in the best language is a characteristic of a Muslim.

He makes assertions that Suleiman (AS) listened to music and his wives dressed beautifully alluding that his female cohorts are representing the very image of Suleiman (AS)’s wives.
In an interview in 2008, Oktar said, “I want to resemble the Prophet Solomon.” He added, “His palace was beautiful; there were beautiful people around him. [The] aim of a Muslim should be beauty.”

Worst of all is the out-right kuffer statements he makes is that the companions of the Prophet Sallahu alyhi wasallam, did not have beards, or make their blessed wives wear the hijab, stop people from enjoying music and playing games. Instead they encouraged muslims to be, (in his favourite word) of ‘High quality’. He says the reasons Why Europe is against Muslims  is because of the radical people who prefer to wear radical clothes the hijab for women, men adhering to the Islāmic dress code, having beards for instance.

I am completely taken aback by such disgraceful behaviour from someone who champions the idea of returning to Islāmic values and morals. Instead he is a man devoid of anything to do with what Islamic morality is and has to offer people in their lives. Mr Adnan Oktar is a repugnant rodent who should be labeled as a heretic. Someone who has by all intensive purposes become astray and should be discredited within the Islāmic centers of learning. There is only one sort of Islam Mr Adan is trying to advocate, and that is where it allows all and everything to take place.

On his nightly show, he sits around a table with his table full of grotesquely-plasticated women and talks about Islam, the Quran, creationism, politics and current social events, along with musings about himself. He calls his female entourage “kittens” and repeatedly asks them what they think of him. An example of the dialogue goes like this: “Do you love me?” Oktar asks. A “kitten” then answers: “I love you so much, my master.” He sometimes brings guests on the show and inquires about their love for him as well.

Below is a glimpse into the fantasy cult world of Mr Adnan Oktar, a collection of all the strangely eerie freaks in one room.

Ironically he wrote a book called ‘Deep thinking’. It appears that to much of deep thinkinghas made all his brain cells turn into mush and do away with his sense of right and wrong, the difference between Islāmic and Shaytanic ideals. This is a man who has clearly gone astray and must by avoided at all cost. Mr Adan, makes other blasphemous remarks on the Prophet Sallahu alyhi wasallam and other prophets (may peace be upon them), on how their Islam was different, to that of the radicals.

• It must be stressed here what he means by the term ‘radicals’. It  is not what is generally understood to refer to as; the blood thirsty khawarij rampaging across the Middle East and North Africa. What Mr Adnan means is, any muslim who willfully chooses to don the hijab, grow a beard or even live life by the laws of Islam, not drinking, clubbing, extra marital relations etc is a radical.

This is a man who is at the head of a growing secularist XXX cult, which adheres to and practices all the evil beliefs of the Battiniyah, a secretive alienated ‘muslim’ sect that preaches what is in the heart is all that matters. As long as the love of Allah and his prophet Sallahu alihy wasallam is in the heart that is the important thing, and what the body does, see, hears, and says is not to be judged, valued or confined to laws and regulations.

What led him to this point?

To close, there is only one major reason this man seems to have gone astray, from promising beginnings Mr Adnan as spiralled and sky rocketed into a cult leader bent of destroying Islāmic teachings, its verses and hadith from inside out. By spewing out and adding his twisted interpretation of classical texts and references.
It would seem that the basis of many of his public claims is the following hadith:
‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud radiallahu ‘anhu who said that the Prophet sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said, “No one will enter Paradise who has an atom’s weight of pride in his heart.” A man said, “What if a man likes his clothes to look good and his shoes to look good?” He said, “Allah is beautiful and loves beauty. Pride means denying the truth and looking down on people.” [Related by Muslim #131]

However, Adnan Oktar has used this to show the women who dress as they do, (provocatively) in his shows do it to fulfill the above hadith. Which is grossly taken out of context and is only a used as a proxy to fulfill his lustful desires. The above hadith is to be applied to areas and contexts that have a clear mandate in the Islāmic laws and regulations, within its halal and haram borders. Looking like mannequins and dressing like prostitutes are NOT what the above blessed hadith refers to! Nor, did the centuries old hadith masters say anything close to the blasphemous claims as this deluded fool is making, an idiot who likes to carry himself as the bearer of divine inspirations. Adnan Oktar’s case study serves to demonstrate the urgent need  of having a shaykh who is well grounded in classical Islāmic knowledge and is also someone who practices what he preaches. Had Adnan Oktar had a shaykh he would have been the most unlikely candidate to step on the footsteps of shaytan, who by all accounts was also a slave of Allah of similar standing like Adnan Oktar; clever, a good theologian, inspirational a charismatic individual, before his infamous fall from grace in the presense of Allah. This exposé is a hope that the young inquisitive muslim populations of the west and the world at large are aware of this deviant individual who is trying to rip out the very soul of authentic classical Islam

May Allah draw us close to him through the footsteps of the rightly guided awliyah who are among the living and those that have gone before us. Amin.
