Demba Ba: An inspirational premiere league football player.

Sometimes many of us, despite not having a single door open for us to sin and evil, will go out of our way to make sure we make carry out a sin, regardless.

For instance, many people know they cannot have relations with women, or that they are not being tempted by an attractive woman/man. But still, unfortunately, many will go out of their way to make sure they look at a attractive woman, have indecent thoughts or try to communicate with her, etc.
Whereas others may not have enough money, so they cannot buy alcohol. But, they will still go out of their way to make sure some how they get to drink a sip of that wine, beer, or larger. They will resort to begging, if need be, asking people on the streets for a pint in the pub or club. These are examples where Allah has already shut the door to sins for many people by not enabling them to take a share in it. However, desperate measures leads to desperate reactions. It is often seen even though these doors to sin may be shut, people will still try and open them.

On the other hand, there are many people, whom despite having all the means and necessary financial capabilities to sin, do not, or as frequently resort to sin for their pleasures or enjoyment. They stay clear of any wrong doing, publicly that is anyway. Instead, they use their blessings, money, privilege, prestige, power, etc, to gain the nearness to Allah, to live righteous and offer support where needed. Demba Ba, a top flight premiere league footballer player in the UK is one among them. Now, many of us, if we were in his position with money, power, fame and name, would be living the high life, drinking, fornicating and “chilling”. However, the more well known Bemba Ba becomes the more religiously practicing he becomes. He is a devout Muslim and often does his goal celebrations with a sajdah, the Muslim prayer prostration. Recently, he made the news by donating large sums of money to build a number of mosques in Senegal, his home country. Imagine! Despite having all the opportunity to sin, which in all honesty, if this was the case with us, we would be, sinning, he refuses to follow the norm. Instead using his talent and position to celebrate the glorious religion of Islam. And, working to improve himself as a believer.

To end with this, what’s great and special about a person is not that he prays and fast when he is free but does all that when he is busy. He places Allah in the centre of his life and not Allah around his life.
Secondly, what great and special about a person is not buying mansions after mansions, driving flashy cars and having the wife of your dreams. But, doing all that whilst being firmly grounded in Islam, in submission to Allah and his prophet (sallahualihiwasalam). Demba Ba, seems to fill this description very fittingly.

Islam is in the spotlight now more than ever before and this has caused people to question the faith itself and none more so than the new-age modernists muslims, largely from the convert western countries who are hell-bent on reforming Islam and its traditional values. This blog is a small space in the vastness of the internet where the fight to preserve, uphold and dignify the traditional inherent human values, are proactively argued against the onslaught of modernist propaganda and hate. Covering topics from current affairs to life-enriching inspirations, though to the traditional teachings of the pious and the awliyah of the past and the present.
