The Great Misconception

Many people when they become practicing have this assumption that they will not be afflicted with any hardship, anxiety or have to face difficulties in their life. They assume that all the problems they had faced will in their previous ‘devilish’ life will simply fade away into thin air.
Personally, I have met many people who when any affliction affects them say “why? Why me?”. This statement can be detrimental. As this implies that we should be treated like kings by Allah. That we do not deserve what we get as we are sinless and pure ‘angel’ like people. This attitude then can lead to becoming hopeless in Allah. Hopeless from seeing the hidden wisdoms why Allah does certain things to us.
This is a tremendous deceptive notion Satan places people in. Of assuming no afflictions will face them. As he knows when someone is expecting something from Allah and does not get it. He/she will ultimately leave obeying Allah jala’wala. So, he places this false expectation on people. Once an individual is in this Satanic trap of expecting nothing to go wrong due to the reason that, he/she has become practicing. He will leave the ‘pious’ path he has adopted immediately once he faces an conflicting and difficult situation. Lastly these brothers and sisters should understand the more a person comes closer to Allah his level of test and affliction will increase. This is the reason as this is what happened to the prophets. They were put through the severest tests and afflictions. So the ones who resemble them will also face the same situations as them. The opposition, the harsh treatments, the difficult emotional and physiological rejections from people etc.
The more Allah loves a person the more tests he puts them through. This is because when the time for reward comes it will be a heavy reward. In the dunya terms for example, if an employee works extra hours and goes though doing extra labour work, when others are not. He will get paid more because of his service. Likewise this is the same with Allah. The ones close to him are the ones who persevere through the thick and thin. Remember Allah when happy and in times of difficulties. like the prophets and the awliyah.
When difficulties come our way, we should have this in mind as mentioned. However, we should not go looking for trouble as the saying goes. Not make dua to Allah to give us difficulties. This is because if we get given a situation we can’t handle it may be dangerous to our fate!

Islam is in the spotlight now more than ever before and this has caused people to question the faith itself and none more so than the new-age modernists muslims, largely from the convert western countries who are hell-bent on reforming Islam and its traditional values. This blog is a small space in the vastness of the internet where the fight to preserve, uphold and dignify the traditional inherent human values, are proactively argued against the onslaught of modernist propaganda and hate. Covering topics from current affairs to life-enriching inspirations, though to the traditional teachings of the pious and the awliyah of the past and the present.
