Yesterday one of the channel 4 correspondents covering the recent upheaval in Libya highlighted something which caught my eye. during the period in which the upheaval in Libya was its strongest in February 2011 the town of Zawiyah was taken over by the rebels and a local mosque was used as a hospital to take care of the injured. Now the correspondent went to revisit the town of zawiyah after having been retaken over by the government soldiers. especially the to the site where the mosque once stood month ago, however that has now been completely wiped out. They showed footage of Ariel raids which bombed the mosque completely raising it to the ground, by Gaddafi’s henchmen obviously. The interesting thing was though, of what the reporter had said.
“i have never seen a muslim blow by a mosque before, completely raising it to the ground”.
This got me wondering who and what is he really? has he been completely been taken over by his ego? its seems that the hunger for power and of greed has caused him to become blind to the truth and see what he is doing of his actions.
The reporter then went to asked a few of the locals as to what happened to the mosque. out of all the ones he asked, if not most, said they don’t know which mosque he was talking about and that such a mosque never existed. After several attempts to get answers he finally found some young men in a car whom when asked what happened to the mosque answered.
“the terrorists used to drink whiskey and have drugs there that’s why it was destroyed”.
subhanAllah! when the whole world saw the mosque there being used as a hospital during the fighting in zawiyah. Gaddafi has given his version of the story to the people simply to justify his messed up agendas.
i remembered the story of yazid and what he did when during his brief time as the khalif. Briefly going over it again, he did the similar things as Gaddafi is doing now. killing on mass, having no fear of Allah, defiling the masajids with bombs and soldiers who are brainwashed to his cause. yazid also in his time closed, al madinah al munawarah for a couple of days. Forbade the adhan being read out from the blessed place. Used his horses (of his soldiers) to be tied down in the masjid! defiling the blessed place where his (sallahuali’hi’wa’salam) blessed head used to touch the ground.
It’s just as the saying goes I guess life is a repetition of history and as one person put it,
a look into history is not how the ancient lived but in fact how we live
The game of life is the same, it’s just different people come in to fill in the ones who leave, new scenes are erected with old ones being taken down for replacement with the new redesigned ones.
