The Great Deception

It’s amazing to think, if not strange, how we always raise questions in our minds and think twice of the benefits and drawbacks when we intend to do a good deed. For example when getting up for fajr. We would ask ourselves and try to come with a million excuses not to get up. Laying there, thinking of the possibilities. “its to early, its to cold, why do I have to when john next does not have to, Islam is to hard and full of sacrifices to be made”.
i was in a discussion with someone not long ago. When one of the beautiful explanations and examples given to explain how we are deceived into thinking we only have to go that extra mile for dheen, have to strive or make sacrifices for Islam and nothing else. It is one from Shaykh Ahmad Dabbagh’s examples. People will make excuse for not getting up for fajr, because its to early or its to cold. however the very same people do not seem to have a problem getting up to go to work at the same time. people who are on early shifts (working hours) 6 or 7am will take extra measure that they wake up in time for work.
The thing here is, we all have the abilities to do the sacrifices and do continuously make them. It’s just, some of us choose which way and for what to make sacrifices for. Take for example sleep. Many people will not wake up for fajr because it ‘disturbs’ their sleep. Where as will not hesitate to get up at similar time to go to work, school or university. The question here is not we cannot do the things prescribed for us. It’s just we already are doing many of the things asked of us, for instance pleasing Allah. When asked that anyone can please Allah and become his friend. The response is many times “no, this is to hard, I can’t become a friend of Allah. Or im to busy to spend time for deen”. When in actual fact we already are doing these things. All that is required is to change our modes and channel our efforts. As you see people always are trying their best to please the women in their life – a wife or their families. Going to great lengths and making big sacrifices, just so that he or she becomes happy with them. If this same effort is channeled so that we make Allah and his rasul happy then why cant we become the friend of Allah. For surely are they not also humans like us. Who also need to eat, sleep, drink, have relationships etc. The devil has many of us in this great trap, in his great deception! Making us think in Islam there is too much sacrifices to be made and therefore it is to hard for the layman to practice dheen in his life. Maybe when he has become old and frail then try to practice dheen, but not now. Even if we don’t want to live according to deen and take this misconception that “we have to make too much sacrifices for Islam, or its to hard”. we still have to make huge sacrifices and undergo hardships in life in general. we have to work, study, build relationship etc all these which come with having to win some and lose some. So it does not mean that if someone is not practicing deen then he/she will be free from having to make sacrifices and exhort effort, time and energy into life. Whereas what Islam simply says is do whatever you are doing, work, going to school, work, being in a relationship. But simply do all these activities in a certain way. if done accordingly then not only you will continue living your normal life, but will be reward for whatever you do. Islam is like the referee in a football match. He only enhances the game not destroys it. Imagine a game of football without the ref! chaos. So imagine life without Islam. Slumber, depression, stress, and at the end of it suicide. As you see those with out the laws of God in their lives still have to accord their live to another system of living. To sum up, don’t be in this deception that ” in Islam there are to many sacrifice to be made”.

Islam is in the spotlight now more than ever before and this has caused people to question the faith itself and none more so than the new-age modernists muslims, largely from the convert western countries who are hell-bent on reforming Islam and its traditional values. This blog is a small space in the vastness of the internet where the fight to preserve, uphold and dignify the traditional inherent human values, are proactively argued against the onslaught of modernist propaganda and hate. Covering topics from current affairs to life-enriching inspirations, though to the traditional teachings of the pious and the awliyah of the past and the present. 1. For a start, any decent, well educated and sensible individual would know that it is very childish to begin a discussion with temper flaring from the mouth and nose. – calm down.
Secondly, with your primitive mind I see you have been well fed by the onslaught of anti Islamic media (propaganda). Let me guess, you have ‘supposedly’ seen a few individuals cause terror apparently in the name of islam and come to the conclusion that islam is a religion of terror? How primitive and simple you must be! Everyone knows that news of today is nothing other than some sensational drama. Out to get attention of people in whatever it can.
Thirdly, let me tell you some thing. Before you go any further do a little research yourself. With an open mind and not the stereotypical mind set you have now. Go beyond simply using the news as your reference! You will see what you find about islam will shock you in a positive way. Islam is NOT what you see in the news and read on papers. We have had the most successful civilisation to appear on earth. This is what every authentic historian adheres to. “Western Europe or the western world would not have been the way it is without the inventions from the Islamic world during the middle ages” – prince Charles.
We are a peace loving religion. Where Jews, christains and Muslims have lived together. Look at Alhambra in Spain.
It was only when Elizabeth with the French king came over to conquer Spain did the harmony between everyone get disturbed. All the Muslims were put to death. With rivers streaming of blood!
Look at Saladin for example, when “richard the lion heart” as the call him was defeated. Saladin promised that none of his people will be harmed on their way out of Jerusalem. When many Muslims were slaughtered by richard when he entered Jerusalem. When Richard heard this he was taken aback of saladin’s high moral character. Saladin could have easily taken revenge on what Richard did earlier but he didn’t instead respected him and allowed their safe passage out.
There are many, many more examples but for the wise a few is sufficient.
If you are going to tarnish and label a whole religion with followers more than 1.5 billion then this is silly and rather childish. When the IRA were causing trouble in the UK. Muslims could have easily have said about the things you have said about Christianity. However, we did not as we have the decency to know that the actions of a few cannot be used to label the entire group/religion. You should do the same.
