Rewiring the Brain – The New ‘You’

I stumbled upon a new piece of information (well for me it is anyway), whilst doing some research. Which is that our brain can be rewired. Rewiring? i hear you say? yes! rewiring.
What it basically means is that if someone focuses on the brain with regards to doing something then he she can rewire it to actually believe in this. For example, if you literally say the phrase “i want to change” on a regular basis, Then the brain actually sticks on to this idea and really believes it. So, you start to see changes happening in your life. – You will actually change!
It is also scientifically proven that if you repeat a phrase over and over again then it is plausible that you will do that thing. Most of the personal trainers who deal with a lot of clients whom are depressed or going through stressful times, teach the client to literally say phrases like “i am not stressed” or “i am not depressed” every morning for a certain number of times before they begin their daily chores. As part of the initial steps to treatment.
As the Washington Post article, staff writer Marc Kaufman says, “Meditation Gives Brain a Charge, Study Finds:

“Brain research is beginning to produce concrete evidence for something that Buddhist practitioners of meditation have maintained for centuries: Mental discipline and meditative practice can change the workings of the brain and allow people to achieve different levels of awareness.”

This technique drastically helps a person to become confident in him/herself leading to being able to communicate and present oneself in from of others.
This is a startling piece of information for me personally, as my teacher would often say to do meditation and zkir (remembrance) of Allah by repeating the holy phrases. So that the love of God and his messenger would pour into my heart, and as a result have a positive effect on my life. Now that it is scientifically proven; on helping a person improve his/her life, i feel ashamed in not taken his word more seriously and practising on the advice which is continually delivers. This clearly shows the parallels between the Islamic ‘sufi’ traditions has with the new found science. I suppose the more we find out about the brain, the more it turns out to be like a computer. Rewiring the brain is like rebooting the computer and installing a new operating system which operates in a completely new way.
If you have one factor dominating the brain, something you think of alot then this relates into actions and the type of person you are. Rewiring the brain enables you to grow a more positive idea in your brain and therefore lead a positive life. this is why they say if you think of the beloved a lot then your actions will be a statement for that love.
I guess, as someone once said: “Science will slowly come to the discovery of La’illaha’illlalah Muhammadur’Rasulullah” and this seems to be true.
Interesting isn’t it?… i know 🙂

Islam is in the spotlight now more than ever before and this has caused people to question the faith itself and none more so than the new-age modernists muslims, largely from the convert western countries who are hell-bent on reforming Islam and its traditional values. This blog is a small space in the vastness of the internet where the fight to preserve, uphold and dignify the traditional inherent human values, are proactively argued against the onslaught of modernist propaganda and hate. Covering topics from current affairs to life-enriching inspirations, though to the traditional teachings of the pious and the awliyah of the past and the present.
