After reading all the hype and speculations about dan browns ‘the lost symbol’. I finally managed to get a cheap copy of the book from amazon. To sum it up the book is ‘an excellent cliff hanger’ literally leaving you on the edge. i think i spent a good number of hours reading the book finding it very difficlut to put it down. Usually ending up reading it long hours into the night, finishing the book in 3 days, from the day it fell through the letterbox. Aside from this he brings into the book a interesting topic, of neotic science – a new breed of scientific research which delves in the supernatural abilities of healing and ones ability to change ones outlook and enviroment based on the emotional makeup of a person. In simple terms if someone has a positive outlook on life then this will affect him in his physical life, not just on the physical but also emotional and physicological. It draws on clear examples of how a person can improve on his/her relationships with other people largely from cunducting inhouse experiments. Our feelings communicate with each other, its as if they have their own language through which they can communicate. This is why if someone (person A) has a negative feeling towards the another person (person B), even though person A may not be saying anything, person B understands for some reason, that person A is not happy with him or there are negative vibes coming from that person.
This science seems to be alluding to the hadiths (statement of the prophet (sallahua’alihi’wa’salam)) that “Actions are based on intentions…” (paraphased), also good company has an effect on the person “A person may enter a perfume shop but he does not buy anything but when he comes out of the shop the fragrant aroma is with him, also when a person is in bad ompany it is like he goes to the black smith and even though he does not buy anything the darkness, and dirt is with him, at times on his clothes etc” (parahased). Something which science seems to proving again – the validity of prophetic teachings.
all in all, its a good read, which needs to be apporached with a sceptical mind. As it tends to give wait and credibility to the freemasons and how they have ‘positively’ shaped the western culture to the way it is. Freedom, igality and morality, the foundations of the freemasionic movement, but the vast majority of the world’s population are well aware of their mischevious and devilish rituals.
