My Fashion is Our Fashion

This post is really an extension from a Facebook post i made few days back. whilst on a jog around the local park i could not help but notice how many of our Muslim brethren are trying so hard simply to fit in with the crowd. I feel so sorry for those Muslims who try so hard to look like them (non-Muslims). They will dress like them with pants half way down their legs and back showing, eat, sleep and look like them. The men making their faces look like potatoes and the women wearing tons & tons of heavy makeup just to impress. Even after all effort they put in, they still get called “pakis go home”, “terrorist”, or get given strange looks when they walk past. Why then not stick to your fashion in the first place. Al Islam? There you will find everything. Respect, dignity, love, honour, and courage.

If one examines the recent history you will notice how even though the Irish and the Scots look, smell, eat, sleep etc like them i.e the non Muslims. However, the Scots do not like the English and the English do not like the Irish. With so many cultural similarities even then they seem to be heavens apart from each other. let alone this, the rich within the English do not like the poorer families. names such as “scalies” and other nasties are used to refer to them yet they are from the same breed so to speak. the same skin colour, culture, fashions, food etc. Yet still the differences of attitude. How then i ask those Muslims will you “fit in” when you come from a drastic different backgrounds, your ancestors having a totally different outlook on life than them. How? The answer is clear no matter how much they claim of equalities there will remain this difference, to a slight or greater degree. We simply have to learn to appreciate and accept our heritage. We need to realize this that no matter how hard an individual tries to “fit in” with the crowd he/she is playing a losing game. As you will never be taken in unless you denounce the dheen. even then they will treat you as a second class individual to them. My point is this (as i have mentioned already) why then do Muslims especially those who are playing a foolish game realize this and just learn to accept their dheen with open arms. take the fashions given to you by the best of people the ambiyah and the awliyah who do not ask anything from us, yet in return we shun them. slam the door in their faces. As to put it simply there only two ways to life either the way of the amibiyah and the awilyah or the way of the shaitan and nafs. who will give you ideas of fashion but will ask for something in return. they are willing to give us “cool” fashion styles but we have to give them something in return. which is become their slave and to sell our selves to them. The options are there it is up-to us which one we take.
Remember the fashion of the ambiyah and the awliyah is the sunnah, to dress modestly. However, the fashion of the shaitan and his army is nakedness. to wear as less clothes as possible.
